Nicasio Salerno Scholarship for Community Service
LEARN is excited to announce the return of the Nicasio salerno Scholarship for Community Service! This scholarship is awarded to students who are recognized for their desire to help others in need as well as assisting others to achieve their goals that further improve themselves both personally and their community. The scholarship is modeled after the efforts of Nicasio Salerno, the former Superintendent of the El Monte Union High School District who also served in the capacity of teacher, coach and principal and was also a former student of the district who returned to give back to his community. Two students from each of the following districts will be awarded $1,000: El Monte Union High School District, Whittier Union High School District, El Rancho Unified School District, Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, and Pomona Unified School District.
