College Access and Awareness
LEARN aims to provide resources that help to increase college knowledge through its Keys to College services for both students and parents. Resources include a complete K-8 college access curriculum. Students take part in grade appropriate curriculum designed to have them identify their early interests and to begin to create a road map to developing next steps along their journey to college. In addition, services are offered around parent education and leadership development to help parents become better informed advocates of their children’s future goals. LEARN provides services such as faculty facilitations to help create consensus around more focused strategic delivery of resources to students. A concerted effort is made to encourage and support post-secondary options through all of LEARN’s program offerings.

Academic Assistance and Enrichment Resources
LEARN offers K-8 elementary after school programming through it’s ASPIRE Program. A unique facet of the program is the weaving in of the college knowledge component for all students. All academic support is tied to common core standards through project based learning modules. Our effort to create this learning environment directly meets LEARN’s 5th core value, which is to support rigorous and meaningful instruction for all students with applicable connections to the real world.
LEARN offers non-school hours programming for high school students through its PREP Program. Enrichment programming ranges from SAT/ACT prep to cosmetology classes to jazz band ensemble. The focus of the PREP Program is that it is largely student driven and works to support the interests of students on campus through a student PREP committee.

Parent Education
LEARN has an active parent involvement component focused on parent education, parent leadership and parent focused workshops developed from parent interest surveys. A key focus of LEARN’s parent component is providing needed resources and information around family healthy lifestyles and post-secondary school options.

Participation is open to any school interested in participating in wholly school based team competition with an emphasis on learning first and competing second. A key component of the KidsPlay program is the focus on healthy eating and nutrition.
