LEARN Receives Commendation for Programming at Ledesma High School
“...[Prep at Ledesma High School] is a model program (continuation or classic) for the state and nation,” said Michelle Perrnoud from the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
Ledesma High School hosts L.E.A.R.N.’s Prep program, which strives to increase interest in higher education among the high school students it serves. The program at Ledesma is run under the coordination of Area Supervisor, Michael Cervantes, and Site Coordinator, Jaime Motta (both featured in the picture above along with the PREP staff at Ledesma). Perrnoud commented that, “Jaime’s leadership, vision, management, and implementation are truly exceptional.”
This commendation went on to say that the school staff and principal at Ledesma “walk the talk” of the program. Thus, it re-emphasizes one of L.E.A.R.N.’s core beliefs that programming is strongest and most beneficial to students when the school leadership work with L.E.A.R.N. to utilize it as a resource.
